Welcome!

I am a fine artist and surface designer, working with fabric and thread as my primary medium. I am interested in ideas about craft and "making," how the handmade object shows the hand of the maker, and in the use of traditional techniques in a modern setting. I have a special interest in Japanese textiles and techniques. I have taken classes in a number of surface design and dye methods, including shibori, katazome, batik, Japanese papermaking and decorating, and I often work with silk. My artwork includes objects for display as well as wearable art.
